LAURA LANE'S POETRY
I am the Wind
I am the wind
Pushing you along
Whispering in your ear
Ever present
Strong and wild then
Calm and peaceful
I rustle the leaves as you pass
I make the wind chimes sing for you to hear
I bring coolness and refreshment to you
On hot steamy nights
I chill you to the bone
Passing through all your layers
On cold winter days
I warn you of impending storms
And howl for you at night
I make the candle flicker
And the porch swing sway
I help you glide across the sky
And push your sails across the seas
I am the wind
Litterally Hung Out to Dry
Literally hung out to dry
Discarded
Abandoned on the line
Left to the elements
Out in the cold
Drenched in the sweat of despair
Bathed in the tears of sorrow
Wrung with pain and anguish
Then slowly, the gentle spring
Washed away the sweat
The tears dried in the summer sun
The pain was swept away
And hope has been lifted up by the winds of change
Cleansed
Refreshed
Renewed
And Released
Times and seasons brought new meaning and
Life has sprung up once more
